Team Bangladesh’s relationship with the T20 format is not good. Finally, before the Asia Cup, BCB announced “Bangladesh wants to play a new brand of cricket”. For that purpose, Mahmudullah Riyad was removed and the responsibility was given to Shakib. There is also a change in the coaching staff of Team Bangladesh. But nothing happened. Bangladesh completed all arts of failure in the Asia Cup as well.
Bangladesh also failed in the tri-nation series in New Zealand. Where the tri-series was supposed to be a confidence booster, Bangladesh is disappointed with a winless series. From there the team’s next mission is T20 World Cup. The Bangladesh team will go directly from New Zealand to Australia, the host of this year’s World Cup.
However, it is known that Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan left for Australia before the team left. No other player went with him. However, the traveling companion is Rabid Imam, Media Manager of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Shakib’s first destination in Australia is Melbourne. Basically, before the start of the World Cup, Shakib went to Australia first to attend a photo session and a special event with the captains of all the teams.
BCB media manager Rabid confirmed the matter. Meanwhile, the Tigers will play warm-up matches against Afghanistan on October 17 and South Africa on October 19 before the start of the T20 World Cup. Shakib and Co will take the field in their first match in the main stage of the World Cup on October 24. Tigers are hopeful of doing well in the World Cup forgetting past failures.
