Shahadat Hossain to lead Bangladesh Legends team

Good news for cricket fans. Once again, the former cricketers of world cricket are getting ready to return to the 22-yards. Road Safety World Series will be held again in India with former cricketers. The competition was initiated by the Ministry of Road Transport, Information and Technology, and Sports and Youth Affairs of the Union Government of India.

The former cricketer of Bangladesh will also participate in the tournament for the second time. Bangladesh Legends has already announced the team. This team will be led by Shahadat Hossain. Former all-rounder Alok Kapali will serve as Shahadat’s deputy.

The series is being launched with the aim of raising awareness about road safety across the world. The group stage of the road safety series will be played in a total of three venues. The opening match will be held in Kanpur.

Apart from Bangladesh, India Legends, South Africa Legends, Australia Legends, West Indies Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, England Legends, and New Zealand Legends will also participate in this tournament. Among them, for the first time, former players of England and New Zealand will play in this tournament.

Sachin Tendulkar became the captain of India in this tournament. The Australian captain is Shane Watson. Besides, Brian Lara will lead West Indies, Ian Bell will lead England, Tillakaratne Dilshan will lead Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh Legends also played in the first season of the tournament. Khaled Mahmud Sujon, Nafees Iqbal Khan, Abdur Razzaq, Hannan Sarkar, Rajin Saleh, Javed Omar Belim and Mohammad Rafiqes represented Red-green in that season. But the former stars of Bangladesh could not perform well in that event.

The curtain will rise on September 10 of this tournament. The final of this 22-day tournament will be held on October 1. Sachin Tendulkar also led India in the first edition of the Road Safety series. That time under his leadership, India won the championship by defeating Sri Lanka Legends in the final.
