Kolkata Knight Riders are still hoping for a play-off in this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even if they win the last match, they have to look at other teams. Former Knight member Salman Butt could not remain silent seeing the plight of the team. He has sharply criticised KKR coach Brendon McCullum.

According to the former Pakistani star, McCullum’s team is playing irresponsible cricket in the name of fearless cricket. He also noticed the lack of experience of the former Kiwi captain. According to Salman, the KKR coach does not make any plans based on specific team, wicket or condition. He believes in the mantra of quick runs by playing with an open mind.

Recently, Salman said on his YouTube channel, ”McCallum has some problems. He knows the only way. The pitch, the field, how many runs can be scored, how to play against a particular team. He just said open mind, run fast. Sometimes it seems that irresponsible cricket is being played instead of fearless cricket. ”

A few days ago, KKR captain Shreyas Ayyar said that the coach and CEO select the team. In this context, Salman said, ”The team should be given a little concession. When someone is made captain, one should also be allowed to make mistakes. The captain is not your pawn, who will follow your instructions. ”

He also recalled McCullum’s failure in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Playing under his leadership, Lahore Calendars bid farewell to the last of the two consecutive PSL events. Meanwhile, McCullum is going to finish the responsibility of the Knights this year as a coach. He has already been signed as the head coach of the England Test team for the next four years.
