The Legends Cricket League is knocking on the door. This season of the Legends Cricket League is going to start from September 17 to October 8. There has already been a lot of interest among cricket lovers around this tournament. Many of the former cricketers will be seen again in the 22-yards.
And the former ODI captain of Bangladesh Mashrafe Mortaza got an offer to play in this league. He was supposed to play for India Capitals. But Mashrafe said that he is not playing there.
Jacques Kallis, Ross Taylor, Mitchell Johnson, Hamilton Masakadza will play in the India Capitals team led by Gautam Gambhir. Mash was also named in the 15-member squad. But he confirmed not to play there.
In this regard, Mashrafe told the media, “I received an offer to play last month. I was wondering whether to play. The tournament is not being played due to various reasons. I informed the concerned people yesterday about not playing.”
This tournament with former cricketers will be played in 6 cities in India. A total of 15 matches in the competition will be held in Kolkata, Lakshmana, Delhi, Jodhpur, Cuttack, and Rajkot.
It should be noted that this former captain was last seen in the Bangladesh national team in 2020. However, he has not officially announced his retirement from international cricket. And Legends League cricket is usually played by retired cricketers. Therefore, many people think that Mashrafe has not officially retired and that’s why he may have removed himself from this tournament.
