RCB and PBKS making replacements for second leg of IPL due to international schedule

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is going to feature the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 from September 19. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will not get some important cricketers in this leg.

New Zealand’s Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn will miss the rest of the IPL due to busy international schedules. Australia’s three stars Kane Richardson, Daniel Sams, and Adam Zampa will also be out of the second leg.

So to fill the void, Virat Kohli’s team has included two Sri Lankan cricketers Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmantha Chameera. They have surprised all by including Singapore’s batsman Tim David in their side.

Hasaranga, whose age is 24, is currently in great form. This all-rounder can play a batsman in the middle order and can bowl leg-spin. He has got a chance in the IPL for the first time. Right-arm pacer Chameera has played for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL before.

On the other hand, Singapore’s six-and-a-half-foot-tall batsman Tim David has also been called up in the IPL for the first time. However, this hard-hitting batsman has experience playing Big Bash, CPL, and PSL.

Besides, Aussie pacer Nathan Ellis, who scored a hat-trick against Bangladesh in his debut match as the first bowler in the T20Is, has been included in the squad by another IPL franchise, Punjab Kings (PBKS). In the second leg of the IPL, PBKS will not get Australian fast bowlers Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith. So, the franchise will try to fill that void of fast bowling with Ellis.

To play in the second leg of IPL 2021, all these cricketers must arrive in Dubai and stay in quarantine for six days. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on September 20 and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) will take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on September 21.
