Pollard's new record in T20

Kieron Pollard set a new history in the short format of cricket. The Caribbean all-rounder became the first cricketer to reach the milestone of 600 T20 matches when he took the field for London Spirit against Manchester Originals in England’s 100-ball tournament, The Hundred.

Although it is a 100 ball match, this tournament in England is basically considered as T20. As such, Pollard got the credit of playing 600 matches in recognized T20. However, chances of breaking this record are very low. Because, only one cricketer has played more than 500 matches in this format.

Pollard’s compatriot Dwayne Bravo is close to him in the record of playing most matches in T20. Bravo has played a total of 543 T20 matches so far. Besides, Shoaib Malik has played 472, Chris Gayle 463, Ravi Bopara 426, Sunil Narine 421 and Andre Russell 414 T20 matches.

Meanwhile, none of the Bangladeshi cricketers could play even 400 matches. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has played the maximum 367 matches in T20. Apart from this, Mahmudullah Riyad is second who played 282 matches and wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim is third by playing 240 matches.
