Pandemic surge continues in India, Sakariya, Piyush & RP Singh loses their fathers

The whole of India has been devastated by the second wave of the deadly Covid-19. Every day thousands of people are falling in the lap of death. People from Indian sports are also being added to that list. Chetan Sakariya has made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year. The left-arm pacer bowled very well for Rajasthan. But his personal life is not as beautiful as the cricket field for him.

The Rajasthan Royals pacer was fighting to cure his father with the IPL money that he got, his father was infected with Covid-19. But he failed to do so by fighting against the terrible coronavirus. Chetan Sakariya’s father Kanjibhai passed away on May 9 (Sunday) after losing to Corona. The Rajasthan Royals cricketer also lost his younger brother Rahul Sakariya a few months ago.

A few days ago, it was learned that Chetan’s father was infected with Covid-19. Coming out of the IPL bio-bubble, Chetan himself said that he was able to use the money received from the Rajasthan Royals for his father’s treatment. Despite all efforts, Kanjibhai could not be saved. The young cricketer had gone to the hospital the day before to see his father. Chetan’s father was a tempo driver, he was kept on ventilation as his physical condition deteriorated.

The Rajasthan franchise has confirmed the news of Sakariya’s father’s death. They expressed on Twitter, “It is difficult for us to report the death of Mr. Kanjibhai Sakaria. He lost the battle with Corona today (Sunday). We are always next to Chetan Sakariya. We are with his family in this difficult time. “

The next day, on the morning of May 10 (Monday), another Indian cricketer, Piyush Chawla’s father Promod Kumar Chawla passed away. He also succumbed to Covid-19 and gave up his last breath. Chawla was playing for Mumbai Indians in the recently postponed IPL. He has previously played for Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Chennai Super Kings.

Chawla posted a post on his Instagram account on Monday. There, he said, his father had been fighting with Covid-19 for the last few days. He died at a hospital in Delhi on Monday. Chawla posted on Instagram, “Life will not be the same without you. I lost one of my hopes for the power of life.” Many then mourned the death of Chawla’s father. His IPL team Mumbai Indians also tweeted condolences.

Irfan Pathan expressed his condolences to Chawla. The former pacer wrote on Twitter, “My good friend Piyush Chawla’s father Promod Kumar is no more. My sincere condolences to you and your family. I hope you will endure this difficult time with patience. Uncle Promod was a very good man. Covid-19 takes away another life.”

After Chetan Sakariya and Piyush Chawla, another Indian cricketer RP Singh lost his father due to Covid-19. Shiv Prasad Singh, the father of the former Indian fast bowler, died on the morning of May 12 (Wednesday). Shortly afterward, RP Singh tweeted the bad news himself. He Tweeted, “I am very dusky to let you know that my father is no more. He left us being affected with Covid-19. Our request is to pray for my father.”

Soon after, RP Singh’s former teammates including Suresh Raina, Parthiv Patel, Irfan Pathan tweeted and wished peace to his father’s departed soul. Besides, Indian cricket fans have also given the message to stay by RP Singh’s side during this difficult time.
