When talking about the pace bowler in the Indian cricket team, the first name that comes to mind is Umran Malik. This pace bowler of India has confirmed his place in the national team by showing the extraordinary speed of the ball. Umran is filling the gap that India has been missing for a pace bowler. His speed is playing a role enough to blow off the stamp of the opposition batsmen. Umran became India’s fastest bowler with a speed of 157 km in IPL. Zaman Khan, a young pacer of Pakistan, wants to break Umran’s record in IPL. He made such a comment recently.
Last year in IPL, Umran bowled a ball at a speed of 157 km for Sunrisers Hyderabad. And after that he came to discussion. He who was a net bowler even last two seasons, is now one of the trusted names in the bowling department of India. This time Pakistan’s young fast bowler Zaman Khan challenged Umran. Zaman Khan has not yet made his debut in the national team. But in the PSL, he hopes to break Umran’s pace record.
Zaman Khan has played seven List ‘A’ and 30 T20 matches for Pakistan so far. Will play for Lahore Qalandars in upcoming PSL. And before that, on a YouTube channel, he challenged to break Umran’s record. Zaman said, “There is a lot of talk about Umran Malik’s fastest speed record in IPL. I want to break that record now. I will break this record in this year’s Pakistan Super League, Inshallah.” He also said, “I don’t care about speed. I don’t even think about it. I think about performance. At the end of the day, it’s not pace, but performance that counts. Whose pace is to him, and that’s his instinct. But more than pace, I look at the line length of the bowling.”
Pakistani pacer Sohail Khan has criticized Umran’s pace a few days ago. He said, “Pakistan has no dearth of pacers like Umran. Umran’s speed is 150 to 155 km per hour or more which can be found in our local area. And when it comes to consideration, I can bring 12-15 Pakistani tape tennis bowlers who have speed more than 150 to 155 kilometers per hour.”
Notably, 23-year-old Umran Malik has so far played 8 ODIs and 8 T20I matches in the Indian jersey. He took 24 wickets. A few days ago, the boy who played tap tennis has now earned the nickname ‘Bullet of Kashmir’ due to his speed. Let’s see if Pakistan’s rising cricket star Zaman can break Umran’s speed record in PSL.
