Pakistan to play home series against the Carribeans despite Covid-19 worries

The Pakistan cricket team visited Bangladesh after the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and now the Men in Greens are scheduled to play 3 ODIs and T20I matches against the West Indies at home. The T20I series of this bilateral clash is going to start today.

But before that, the West Indies cricket team was upset by the punches of Covid-19. Three key cricketers have tested positive in Covid-19: Sheldon Cottrell, Roston Chase, and Kyle Mayers. Despite these three being positive Covid-19, international cricket returns to Pakistani soil. The Pakistan-West Indies cricket match is scheduled to start on Monday.

While the West Indies are busy with Covid-19, the Pakistan cricket team is busy with their preparations. Pakistan is a very strong opponent in the T20 format, and Pakistan was one of the contenders for the title in the recently concluded World Cup. Especially those who watched Pakistan’s game in the group stage, all said the title would go to Babar Azam and Co.

But in the semi-final, Pakistan was blown away by Matthew Wade’s stormy batting, whose duration was just 10 minutes. The title went to Aaron Finch instead of Babar Azam. After the World Cup Pakistan went to Bangladesh and won the series 3-0 against the hosts.

Just before the World Cup, the New Zealand cricket team went to Pakistan to play. But for security reasons, they returned without playing the series. The England cricket team did not visit Pakistan for the same reason. In the end, after so many speculations, West Indies went to visit Pakistan. However, the West Indies have decided to continue the series with the rest of the team, despite the fact that there are Covid-19 infected cricketers in the squad.
