After establishing that the TATA IPL 2022 will include ten teams, the BCCI reintroduced the IPL 2011 playing format. A total of 74 matches, including four playoff matches, will be played.
As previously stated, the ten clubs will play 60 matches, with each team playing 14 league matches and facing each other twice in each league match.
The 15th season of the Tata IPL 2022 would be held in a single hub, considering the Covid-19 transmission and the players’ bio-bubble. As a result, the players will not have to travel as far, lowering the risk of Covid-19 infection and the likelihood of cricketers contracting the disease during the league.
The Tata IPL 2022 will begin on March 26 and end on May 29, with the final on May 29. The location of the playoff matches, on the other hand, will be determined later. The state of Maharashtra has been designated as a single hub.
70 league matches will be contested at three venues in Mumbai and one venue in Pune. Wankhede Stadium and DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai will host 20 matches apiece, while Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai and MCA International Stadium in Pune will host 15 matches each.
