Mighty Aussies to challenge young Tigers’ side; a sheer cricket battle is awaiting

In international cricket, the Australian cricket team is currently touring Bangladesh for a five-match T20I series. The tour is set to begin with the first T20I match tomorrow (August 3) at the Shere-Bangla National Stadium (Dhaka) in Mirpur. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th T20 matches of the series will be played on August 4, 6, 7, and 9 at the same venue respectively.

Since 2007, Australia and Bangladesh have faced each other in a total of four T20I matches, where Australia has won all of the matches. The two teams last met in the 22nd match of the group stage of the 2016 T20 World Cup. The Aussies won by three wickets against the Tigers in that match.

Australia last played a five-match T20I series against the host West Indies. They lost the series 1-4 to the Caribbeans. However, Bangladesh won their last three-match T20I series 2-1 against the hosts Zimbabwe.

Out of the last 5 T20I series, Bangladesh has won 3. Australia, on the other hand, has won just one of the last five T20I series. However, since the experienced players of the team are not in this series, both the teams have arranged the team with young players. So it is expected to be a series full of fierce competition with young players.

Despite the fact that Australia is ahead in terms of statistics, the success of the latest T20I series at home and abroad has made the Bangladesh team strong in confidence. Moreover this time the Tigers are going to play on home soil. They will try their best to get a triumph against the Aussies and keep the series memorable.

Note that Australia is ranked 5th and Bangladesh is ranked 10th in the ICC T20I rankings. So the Tigers have to work hard in this series to build a solid position in the points table.
