CSK won the IPL’s El Classico Mumbai vs Chennai match on Thursday thanks to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s heroics in the final over. In the 33rd match of the IPL, CSK defeated Mumbai by three wickets.

CSK captain Ravindra Jadeja won the toss and asked Mumbai to bat first. Both teams made some changes for this match. Mumbai made 3 changes for this match. Tymal Mills Murugan Ashwin and Fabien Allen was dropped from the playing xi. In came Daniel Sams Riley Meredith and Hrithik Shokeen.

In this match, CSK also made some changes to their starting lineup. Chris Jordan and Moin Ali were replaced by Dwayne Pretorius of South Africa and Mitchell Santner of New Zealand.

Mumbai did not get off to a good start. Mumbai lost both of their openers in the opening over of the innings. In the first over, Mukesh Choudhary struck twice.

Suryakumar Yadav and Dewald Brevis produced a partnership of 21 runs off 13 balls. Brevis was unable to score big. He returned with only four runs. Mukesh Choudhary picked up brevis to claim his third wicket in the match.

Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai continued to play attacking shots from one side.He was accompanied by Tilak Verma. Despite Surya’s excellent start, Chennai did not allow him to bat for long. Mitchell Santner, New Zealand all-rounder, took the important wicket of Surya. Surya returned to the pavilion after an innings of 32 runs off 21 balls.

Tilak Verma and Hrithik Shokeen formed a partnership in Hrithik Shokeen’s debut IPL match. Ritwik was bowled out for a total of 25 runs. His 25-run innings were critical for MI at that point in the contest. Dwayne Bravo, the CSK all-rounder, took the wicket.

Kieron Pollard, who just retired from international cricket, was unable to stay at the crease for an extended period of time. If pollard batted throughout the MI innings then Mumbai should have made atleast 180. Sri Lankan spinner Mahesh Theekshana dismissed him. In this match, Pollard only faced 9 balls and scored 14 runs.

Tilak Verma of Mumbai batted brilliantly and batted throughout. Mumbai reached a respectable total thanks to a 35-run partnership between Tilak Verma and Jaydev Unadkat

In Mumbai’s innings, Tilak Verma scored the most runs. After a brilliant knock of 51 off 43 balls, he stayed unbeaten.Jaydev Unadkat also scored 19 runs off just 9 balls.

With the very first ball, Daniel Sams returned Ruturaj Gaikwad to the pavilion. Ruturaj’s bat has yet to produce a matchwinning innings for CSK. In this encounter, he failed to score big once again. Mitchell Santner was promoted to no 3 but this experiment wasn’t succesfull.Santner only made 11runs before getting out.

With a partnership of 50 off 39 balls, Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu got CSK back on track. Robin batted well, scoring 28 runs off 20 balls. With the bat, Shivam Dube failed in this match. Daniel Sams was the took his wicket.

CSK’s Ambati Rayudu scored the most runs. For his 40-run innings, Chennai was always in the game. With the bat, CSK skipper Jadeja was unsuccessful in this match. Dhoni and Dwayne Pretorius’ 33-run partnership in just 21 balls got them back into the game. In just 14 balls, the South African all-rounder scored 22 runs.

To win, CSK needed 17 runs in the final over. Pretorius was dismissed in the last over’s first ball by Jaydev Unadkat. . Dhoni once again showed why he is known as the world’s most successful finisher. Dhoni struck 6 4 4 2 in the next four balls to give Chennai a historic victory in the final ball of the match.

Dhoni scored 28 runs in 13 balls. CSK won the match by three wickets thanks to his brilliance. As a result of this setback, Mumbai has now lost 7 consecutive matches.

Chennai is now in ninth place in the points table after winning this match, with four points from seven games. The Mumbai Indians have yet to win a game. With 0 points in seven games, they are in 10th place in the league table.
