English all-rounder Luke Wright got a big responsibility in England cricket. He has got the responsibility of boys cricket selector in England. The England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed his appointment. And to fulfill this responsibility, the 37-year-old English all-rounder said goodbye to his playing life.
Wright also played for Sussex in T20 last June. He thanked Sussex after announcing his retirement. Wright said: “Many thanks to everyone at Sussex for 19 fantastic seasons. I’m very proud of what I’ve achieved individually and as a team. I’ve given it my all, hopefully that’s reflected on the pitch. I’ll always be a Sussex fan.”
And Wright is excited to be the new selector. Looking forward to the role, Wright said, “It’s an honor to take on the role, which I’m thrilled about. There’s the Ashes and the 50-over World Cup next year. I can’t wait to contribute to England’s boys’ cricket.”
Wright made his debut in England’s first T20 World Cup match against Zimbabwe in 2007. After that, he was seen in four T20 World Cups. This cricketer who played 101 international matches for England in international cricket was also a member of the champion England in 2010.
