Liton Das will bat at number 4 in the World Cup

The T20 World Cup is knocking on the door. This mega event of cricket will be screened on October 16. Team Bangladesh is preparing for the World Cup after the failure of the Asia Cup However, there have been glimpses of several changes in the World Cup team.

Mushfiqur Rahim announced his retirement from international T20 before the upcoming World Cup after the failure of the Asia Cup. So, the Bangladesh team management gave a glimpse of playing Liton in his place.

Mushfiqur used to bat at number 4 for Bangladesh in T20. In his absence, the position requires someone experienced and reliable. So now the team management thinks that Liton is qualified for this position.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu said in this regard, “The team management is thinking of dropping Liton Das to number four instead of opening the World Cup. We are thinking of dropping Liton to number four. But no final decision has been taken yet.”

He said it was important to get Liton’s opinion before making a decision. Nannu also said, “ But how does he himself take this decision, what is he thinking; That too should be seen here. We will talk to him about it in the next practice.”

Nannu said that Bangladesh’s new technical consultant Sridharan Sriram also wants such a change in the team. He said, “Seeing Liton batting, Sriram said, batsmen like Liton-Afif are needed at number four and five. Because it is difficult to hit boundaries when the power play ends. Then they can play in the gap and score runs. Their power hitting is also quite good.”

Liton was dropped from the Asia Cup team due to injury. He is now quite fit after the rehabilitation process in the country. He has already been seen practicing with the bat. And this opener is maintaining his fitness by sweating regularly in the gym. Let’s see how much light he can spread in the 22-yards in this World Cup.
