Delhi Capitals were handed their second defeat of the Women’s Premier League in their last fixture against Gujarat Giants as they lost by 11 runs. Batting first Gujarat posted 147/4 in their allotted 20 overs courtesy of half-centuries from Laura Wolvaardt (57 off 45) and Ashleigh Gardner (51* off 33).
In reply, Delhi were bundled out for 136 in 18.4 overs with Marizanne Kapp top scoring with 36 off 29 balls. Despite the defeat, Delhi are qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament having four wins in six matches. Their next game is against the table-toppers Mumbai Indians on Monday, March 20 at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
Delhi have eight points to their name with two matches remaining in the league stage, while Mumbai have ten points with the same number of matches left. Delhi will look to beat Mumbai by a huge margin to get to have a chance to finish at the top of the points table and get a direct entry into the finals. To do that, they will once again have to field a strong playing XI to beat the table toppers.

Openers: Shafali Verma, Meg Lanning (c)

After her whirlwind knock of 76* off 28 balls against Gujarat in the ninth Match, Shafali has had two consecutive failures as she got bowled for a golden duck against RCB and could only manage to score 8 against Gujarat. She will look to return to her usual form against Mumbai with the knockout stage approaching.
Meg Lanning was ruling the batting charts until Match 17, as she was the leading run-scorer of the tournament. However, the Australian star has been dethroned from the top position with Sophie Devine taking her place. Devine is 27 runs ahead of Lanning who has 239 runs to her name in six innings. The Delhi captain will be eager to return to the top of the table with another classy knock against Mumbai.
Middle Order: Alice Capsey, Jemimah Rodrigues, Taniya Bhatia (wk)

Alice Capsey was looking in good touch in the last game against Gujarat having scored 22 off 11 deliveries, however, her innings was cut short by an unfortunate run out. She has played three good cameos in the tournament so far and has picked three wickets as well. Capsey will once again look to make a vital contribution for her team against Mumbai.
Jemimah had her first real failure of the tournament against Gujarat as she departed after scoring just one. However, she has made vital contributions in the middle order and will once again look to perform well against Mumbai.
Taniya Bhatia once again failed to score with the bat in her second batting opportunity of the tournament and returned to the pavilion after scoring just one run. However, she has done a decent job behind the wickets donning the wicketkeeping gloves.
All-rounders: Marizanne Kapp, Jess Jonassen

Marizanne Kapp has done a great job as an allrounder so far as she has scored 125 runs at an average of 41 and she’s also the second-highest wicket-taker for Delhi having taken seven scalps at an average of 21. In the last game, she top-scored with 36 off 29 balls and also picked up 1/24 in four overs. Kapp will once again look to put up another all-round show against Mumbai.
Jess Jonassen picked up 2/38 in four overs against Gujarat but failed to fire with the bat. She has played two brilliant knocks in the tournament so far and has also picked up five wickets. Jonassen will once again look to contribute with either bat or ball against Mumbai.
Bowlers: Arundhati Reddy, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Poonam Yadav

Arundhati Reddy picked up her first wicket of the tournament as she dismissed Laura Wolvaardt in the game against Gujarat. She finished with figures of 1/25 in three overs and also scored 25 off 17 in her first outing with the bat. She will once again look to perform for her team if given the opportunity against Mumbai.
Radha Yadav failed to pick a wicket against Gujarat and gave away 23 runs in three overs. She hasn’t had the best of the tournaments so far having picked up only one wicket in six matches. Yadav will look to step up her game against Mumbai with the knockout stage approaching.
Shikha Pandey is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament for Delhi so far having scalped eight wickets at an average of 18.87 and an economy of 6.86. Having remained wicketless against Gujarat she will look to pick crucial wickets for her side against Mumbai.
Poonam Yadav was brought into the side in place of Tara Norris who could only pick two wickets after taking a fifer in the first game. Poonam bowled two overs in the match and gave away just seven runs in two overs. Captain Meg Lanning will look to
