The battle lines have been drawn as arguably the biggest T20 cricket carnival of the calendar is set to return on Friday, March 31 with its 16th edition. The start of IPL 2023 will set the stage ablaze and it will see ten captains across the ten franchises go toe to toe against each other. Before the start of the T20 bonanza captains of their respective teams came together to pose for the cameras alongside the glittering IPL trophy. But there is one big name missing from the image and it is of the Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma.
Rohit Sharma was nowhere to be seen in the picture and that has set social media users in a frenzy. People across social media platforms are curious as to why Rohit is not there in the image. Meanwhile, the image that has been shared by the Indian Premier League on its official Twitter account also had India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar posing for the camera alongside other skippers of the team and it also suggests that he might end up leading Sunrisers Hyderabad in the absence of Aiden Markram.
Aiden Markram is the designated skipper of Hyderabad but he is currently in South Africa leading the Proteas against the West Indies in a bilateral series. It is presumed that he won’t be available initially due to his national commitments but once he is back he will be leading the Orange Army.
