South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma’s career-best 144 from 118 balls went in vain as West Indies pipped the hosts to win the second ODI. After the first game was abandoned without a ball being bowled, the West Indies took an unassailable lead 1-0 in the three-match series courtesy of a scintillating knock by skipper Shai Hope.

His unbeaten 128 anchored the West Indies to 335/8t in their 50 overs. While the hosts did try to put their best foot forward and fight back, Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph struck the vital blows as they got three wickets apiece.

The Proteas have been handed with a massive boost as Aiden Markram and David Miller will be available for the third and final clash. Therefore, the side could make a few changes in order to bolster the XI and get level in the series.

The two sides will lock horns at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on March 21. After the conclusion of the ODI series, the two teams will square off in three T20Is starting March 25.

Pitch and Conditions

Pacers will benefit from the surface in Potchefstroom but the wicket is also expected to have something in it for the batters to get the runs. The spinners may play a vital role in the second part of both innings.
