Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant recently made the day of a young fan by wishing him on his birthday on Monday, February 27.
A Twitter user by the name Suvajit Mustafi requested Pant to wish his six-year-old son on his special day.
Mustafi shared a video of his son batting in his home where he plays a shot and says, “I bat like Rishabh Pant”. He tweeted the video and wrote, “Hey @RishabhPant17. Hope your recovery process is going smooth? My son, Ayan — is your biggest fan. A heart warrior & a fellow left-hander, he aspires to be like you. He has been praying for your recovery since Dec 30. He turns 6 today. Could you pls wish ‘birthday’ to him?”
Much to Ayan’s good fortune, the Indian cricketer took notice of the Tweet and wished the six-year-old. Pant took to Twitter and wrote a special message which read, “Happy birthday Ayan. Have a great year 😊😊🎂🎂.”
Pant to stay out of action for a year
Meanwhile, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter is recovering from serious injuries he suffered in a life-threatening accident in December lasy year. Pant’s injuries are quite severe and are likely to keep him out of the game for a year.
The 25-year-old will be missed by his IPL team Delhi Capitals and the Indian Cricket team with multiple major events scheduled for the year. After the IPL ends, India will most likely be playing in the World Test Championship final in June and will later take part in the ODI World Cup at home in October-November.
Indian team have huge shoes to fill with Pant’s absence from the squad. In Tests, Srikar Bharat has been brought in as a wicketkeeper-batter while in the ODIs Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul have kept the wickets in Pant’s absence.
