Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by 66 runs in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match no 14 at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on Sunday, February 26. The feisty contest between the two PSL franchises saw some heated moments on the field.

The incident took place in the 16th over of the match when Multan Sultans pacer Ihsanullah Khan came to bat following the dismissal of Anwar Ali. At that time, Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim was heard instructing Akif Javed only to bowl bouncers to the youngster instead of bowling full-length deliveries. While talking with Javed, Imad used an abusive term for Ihsanullah.

“Don’t bowl full delivery to this ******, only bowl bouncers,” said Imad during the match as reported by cricketpakistan.com.pk.

When Ihsanullah was about to bat, Imad placed a leg slip for him. However, the 20-year-old cricketer survived three balls from Javed and remained unbeaten on naught as Sultans got bundled out for 101 runs in the next over (17th).

Meanwhile, Ihsanullah is the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing edition of the tournament. He has bowled economical spells in the tournament thus far and the 20-year-old pacer is one of the feared bowlers of the tournamnet.

In 2022, Wasim was fined for a Level 1 breach of the PSL Code of Conduct during the 21st match against Islamabad United. The 34-year-old was found to have violated Article 2.5 of the PSL Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. Article 2.5 relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during a PSL Match.”

Talking about the match Karachi and Multan, Multan Sultans won the toss and decided to bowl first. Tayyab Tahir (65 off 46 balls) made a memorable PSL debut as Karachi Kings posted 167/3 in 20 overs. Chasing 168 runs, the table-toppers Multan were bowled out for 101 in 16.3 overs.
