The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Friday, April 7 felicitated former India skipper MS Dhoni, for his World Cup winning six at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Notably, the Men in Blue ended their 28-year-old title drought and attained glory after the skipper dispatched one into the stands in 2011 against Sri Lanka in the summit clash.

The association decided to honour the now 41-year-old cricketer for helping the national team engrave their name in the history books. In a video shared by RevSportz, the World Cup winning skipper was seen receiving the honour from MCA president Amol Kale.

MS Dhoni gears up for battle against arch-rivals

Speaking about the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, MS Dhoni and Co. have begun preparations in full-swing to lock horns with five-time winners, Mumbai Indians. The visitors had a mixed start to their campaign as they endured a loss in their first match, followed by a win in the next game.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Co. headed back to Mumbai after a disastrous outing against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 2. However, the side is known to bounce back from their setbacks and have won titles on numerous occasions despite a shaky start.

The two heavyweights are set to square off at the iconic Wankhede Stadium and will aim for results in their favour. Speaking about their head-to-head records, Mumbai have been the superior side with 20 wins in their 34 outings while CSK has managed to win on 14 occasions.
