The ongoing fourth game between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore saw an intriguing incident unfold when MI skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was left bemused after batter Richa Ghosh was adjudged not out off Nat Sciver-Brunt’s bowling in the eighth over.
The incident happened on the third delivery of the eighth over of RCB’s innings. The bowler delivered a short ball on middle and off and Richa missed a pull shot. MI appealed and the umpire adjudged it not out. Harmanpreet sent it upstairs and the Ultraedge showed that there was no bat involved. Harmanpreet’s body language suggested that she was not pleased with the decision and couldn’t believe her eyes.

The ongoing game looks to be heading in the favour of Mumbai as RCB have already lost six of their batters inside the 13th over mark. The pair of Smriti Mandhana and Sophie Devine was expected to get RCB off to a flyer but it wasn’t meant to be.
They added 39 for the opening wicket and then Devine perished as the star with the ball of Mumbai’s opening encounter against Gujarat Giants Saika Ishaque got rid of her.
Disha Kasat, who failed with the bat in the last game against Delhi Capitals had a horrid show with the bat yet again as she fell prey to Ishaque for a duck. Smriti too couldn’t last long at the crease either as she scored 23 off 17 and got out to Hayley Matthews.
RCB were defeated by Delhi Capitals in the last game by 60 runs. They put up a lackluster performance with the ball and conceded 223 in 20 overs despite having quality bowlers like Megan Schutt, Renuka Singh Thakur among others.
DC openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning went hell for leather against RCB’s bowling attack and put together a 100-run partnership to get their team to a resounding start. RCB couldn’t make the most of the batting conditions on offer and could only manage to score 163 for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
