Legends League Cricket Masters 2023 (LLC) co-founder and CEO, Raman Raheja has dropped some major plans he has in his mind to ensure the league gains even more popularity around the world than it already has. The Legends League Cricket Masters will officially commence from March 10, 2023. This will be the third season, and the tournament will be played at the Asia Town Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Notably, the LLC has had two successful seasons, first in India and then in Qatar so far. Raheja has some very interesting plans and strategies in his bucket-list, which he wishes to gradually tick-mark to popularise the league even more than usual. It is the second-most followed cricket league in the world after the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Meanwhile, Raheja the CEO of LLC opened up about his future plans for the coveted league. Ranging from having the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni to future ambitions of having modern active legends to become the part of this blooming league. Moreover he also shared his motive of this league. Raman Raheja is looking forward to catering to legends having an active post retirement career without hampering their personal life due to sudden retirement.

‘Would love to have MS Dhoni’ – Raman Raheja opens up on big plans for the LLC in future

“In terms of the franchise model, we will add two more teams. We are also looking to create more events, maybe not like the franchise model which is kind of a three-weeks event, but more on the grounds of bilateral series comprising these legends. For that, the player pool needs to be really good. My future plan is to position this as a second innings for players. And I would love to have MS Dhoni come and play sometime. Or may, all we know, five years later we have a Kohli vs Rohit take place,” the CEO said while speaking exclusively in an interview with the Hindustan Times Digital.

Raman Raheja stated that to be able to have star India cricketers like MS Dhoni, and in the near future Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, was definitely something that he was contemplating, as fans would love to see these popular players taking the field and it will also help promote the league to a great extent.

“Cricket is a religion in our country with a billion fans following from India alone. It is often the situation that senior cricketers are forced to sit out or take early international retirements because a younger replacement has come in. These players still have 4-5 years of career left in them. We felt if there was a platform where these similarly-aged cricketers, then the fans would love it and for these players it wouldn’t be a sudden exit from the game but a rather gradual exit from the sport. It will be sort of a second innings for them,” Raheja concluded.
