India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has revealed that star batter Virat Kohli has chosen a path of spirituality in the past five to seven years. He also stated that he has regular conversations with Kohli about the matter. Dhawan has been fighting for a place back into the Indian team after he was dropped from the ODI squad in January.

Notably, Kohli has been quite vocal about being spiritual in the past few years and how it has helped to calm himself down. He has also been visiting several temples with his wife Anushka Sharma and has a completely new outlook towards life.

“I do have conversations with Virat (Kohli) about spirituality. He has been inclined towards spirituality quite a lot in the past five to seven years. He has inspired a lot of people,” said Dhawan on ‘The Ranveeer Show Hindi’.

The former India captain had been struggling with the bat since 2020 and had not scored a century for over 1000 days in international cricket. Kohli revealed in an interview in 2022 that it was the darkest phase of his life where he didn’t even want to pick up a bat.

However, he was able to come back out of it by adopting a religious path and making frequent visits to several temples all over the country. It has helped him massively as he’s scored runs across the formats and also ended his long century drought.

Dhawan starts the IPL campaign on a high for PBKS

Talking about Dhawan, the southpaw is leading Punjab Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Under his leadership, PBKS have managed to win both of their matches so far against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, respectively.

During the second game against RR, he top-scored for his side with his knock of 86 off 56 balls smashing nine fours and three sixes in his blistering innings. Courtesy of his knock, Punjab posted a massive score of 197/4 in their allotted 20 overs and managed to win the match by five runs.

On the other hand, Kohli has also started his IPL campaign on a high by scoring 82* off 49 balls in RCB’s opening game against MI. However, he got out cheaply in the second game, scoring just 21 off 18 balls against KKR.
