Kohli said Patidar's innings were a lesson for everyone.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsman Rajat Patidar has scored a great century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) play-offs. Basically, Virat Kohli has won by riding his bat. Bangalore lost to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 14 runs. After winning the match, Kohli interviewed Patidar on the field.

Then Kohli said, ”After Patidar returned to the dressing room, I told him, I have seen a lot of good innings under pressure for so many years. But I didn’t see anyone play the innings like Patidar.” The cricket star said that Patidar’s century in such a big match is really worthy of praises. Patidar became the first batsman, who had yet to play in the national team but scored a century in the IPL play-offs.

Kohli said the stress of working in the playoffs is not always manageable for big cricketers. He thinks the impact of the innings played by Patidar there is much greater. “I was very worried,” said Kohli. He commented that because in many cases before this, Kohli could not leave the field after winning from this situation. “So Patidar’s innings are much more important.” His innings taught everyone that anyone can be successful if they believe in themselves and work hard, Kohli added.

However, not only his own words, but Kohli also asked a number of questions to Patidar. Asked about his mental state when he went down to bat after Du Plessis was out, Patidar said, “There was pressure. But I was confident. So, I was trying to survive at the crease, even though I didn’t get a run at first. I knew that if I survived, it would be an advantage to play big shots towards the end of the innings. This is the first time I played until the last over. So, in the end, I was able to score a run very fast. ”

Kohli and Patidar said that they were under pressure in the end even after scoring 207 runs. Patidar said, ”As long as Rahul was at the crease, there was some pressure. I was just praying for him to be out. After Rahul was out, however, the pressure decreased a lot. ” Praising the bowlers, Kohli said, “The bowlers have been able to hold their nerves. I won in the end, that’s the big thing. I will go to Ahmedabad on Thursday. I am eagerly waiting to play on Friday (against Rajasthan Royals). I hope I can win two more matches.”
