Jamieson climb to career-best third position, Liton secures 15th rank among the batters in ICC rankings

Kyle Jamieson and Litton Das have achieved career-best positions in the ICC Test rankings after the Test series between New Zealand and Bangladesh finished in a draw. South African captain Dean Elgar has been named in the top 10 for the first time since January 2019. Also, Australia’s Usman Khawaja has re-entered the rankings by scoring a pair of centuries in the ongoing men’s Ashes series.

After taking eight wickets in two Tests against Bangladesh, Jamieson has moved up six places to No. 3 in the Test bowling rankings with 825 rating points. Tim Southee is still ranked 7th in the rankings with 795 rating points. One step back after him, Neil Wagner (775 rating points) is now in 9th place in the rankings. In the Test series against the Tigers, Trent Boult has gone three steps ahead in the rankings by taking a maximum of nine wickets.

Aussie pacer Pat Cummins is at the top of the bowler’s rankings and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin is at the second position. South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada is at number five. Fast bowler Ebadot Hossain, who thrashed New Zealand in the Mount Manganui Test, is now 88th, 17 steps ahead of his previous rank.

Despite Bangladesh’s innings defeat against New Zealand in Christchurch, Liton Das has risen to the best position of his career in the Test batting rankings with a great century. The batsman played a great inning of 86 in the first Test and 102 in the second Test. Thanks to which Liton has risen 17 steps ahead with 683 rating points and is at 15th place, which is his career-best.

However, Mushfiqur Rahim has gone six steps behind and is in the 25th position. Captain Mominul Haque and opener Tamim Iqbal have also gone down. Mominul is now in 37th place. Tamim, who has not played in the last few Tests, has gone 5 steps behind. He is ranked 38th. Shakib Al Hasan is in 40th place. Although he did not play Tests, his position did not change.

South Africa captain Dean Elgar has returned to the top ten after a long absence in the Test batting rankings. He is now in tenth place with 731 rating points. Australia’s Usman Khawaja is ranked 26th after scoring a pair of centuries in the Sydney Test.
