RCB vs SRH Match Highlights
In the second match of Saturday’s double-header in IPL 2022, courtesy of the bowlers’ impeccable bowling performance at the Brabourne-CCI Stadium in Mumbai, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has picked up a huge 4-wicket win with 72 balls in hand over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). At the same time, after winning this match, SRH got their 5th consecutive victory.
After winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson decided to bowl first sending RCB to bat. RCB fell into the fiery bowling attack of Marco Jansen from the very beginning of their innings. Coming to bowl in the second over of the innings, he sent off the top 3 batsmen in 8 runs – Faf du Plessis (5), Anuj Rawat (0), and Virat Kohli (0) to the dressing room.
Virat Kohli is having a hard time in his career. The Indian batting sensation has not seen Fifty so far in this year’s edition of IPL. At the same time, in two consecutive matches, he has got out with a Golden Duck (0 off 1 ball).
Kohli’s failure seems to have affected the entire team. Therefore, RCB was bowled out for 68 runs in 16.1 overs by the invincible bowling performance of SRH’s bowlers.
RCB could not cope with the initial push. In between, Glenn Maxwell (12 off 11 balls) and Suyash Prabhudessai (15 off 20 balls) tried to take the helm of the team, but in the end, could not do so due to SRH’s aggressive bowling attack. Except for the two of them, no other RCB batsman has scored double digits.
Marco Jansen took 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs for SRH. T Natarajan also picked up 3 wickets conceding just 10 runs in 3 overs. Besides, Jagadeesha Suchith took 2 wickets and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik took 1 wicket each.
Chasing the easy target of 69 runs, SRH reached the port of victory in 8 overs losing only 1 wicket. Abhishek Sharma’s stormy batting did not make it difficult for SRH to win.
Abhishek returned to the pavilion after falling victim to Harshal Patel just 5 runs away from the team’s victory. He returned to the pavilion with 47 runs off 28 balls with 8 fours and 1 six. Kane Williamson (16) and Rahul Tripathi (7) left the field remaining unbeaten with winning the match.
