The Indian Premier League (IPL) ended a few days ago. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is going to start their busy schedule as the national team. They will face South Africa in a five-match T20 series from June 9. India will set a world record by winning this series.

They will set a world record for consecutive wins in the International Twenty20. Although the world record is now held by India, but that is shared with Afghanistan and Romania. India needs one more victory to set this record alone. India will set a world record if they win in Delhi on June 9.

India beat New Zealand and the West Indies 3-0 at home after winning the last three matches of the last T20 World Cup with Afghanistan, Scotland, and Namibia. They were unbeaten in the last 12 matches. India has not lost an international Twenty20 match since November 3, 2021.

The first three matches were won by captain Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma led the next nine wins. If they win the first match of the series against South Africa, KL Rahul will be the captain of that record-breaking match. As a result, three captains will contribute to this world record of winning 13 matches in a row.

Earlier, Afghanistan had won 12 consecutive International Twenty20 matches from February 2018 to September 2019. Apart from this emerging cricket team, Romania has the same record. Romania had already achieved this feat before the Afghans with 12 wins between February 2016 and July 2018.
