IND vs NED (Match 23) – Highlights
India and Netherlands met in Thursday’s 23rd match of the T20 World Cup. Batting first in that match, India built up a huge capital. But The Netherlands could not reach the target as the scheduled 20 overs ended in pursuit of that goal. As a result, the Netherlands had to leave the field with a loss. Along with that, Suryakumar Yadav won the man of the match title by batting brilliantly for India.
India won the toss and decided to bat at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The run rate in the first 9 overs was less than six. After that, India slowly opened its hands. Suryakumar Yadav made stormy innings off Netherlands bowlers in the last 5 overs.
India scored 65 runs in the last 5 overs. Surya completes his half-century with a six off the last ball. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also reached the half-century margin before him. Based on these three fifties, India made a huge collection of 179 runs for 2 wickets.
The Dutch bowlers were doing very controlled bowling in the beginning. In the third over, Lokesh Rahul took the path of the dressing room when the team got only 11 runs on the board. He scored 9 runs off 12 balls with the help of 1 four.
Rohit Sharma also got a couple of lives. He took advantage of that opportunity to score a half-century. Rohit got out for 53 off 39 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. Then Kohli and Surya’s pair of 8 overs started. This duo added 95 runs with the unbroken pair. Kohli remained unbeaten on 62 runs off 44 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Surya’s unbeaten innings of 51 run off 25 balls included 7 boundaries and a six.
For the Netherlands, Fred Klaassen took 1 wicket with 33 runs in 4 overs and Paul van Meekeren took another wicket with 32 runs in 4 overs.
In the first match of the day, South Africa took off the run rate with a huge 104-run win against Bangladesh. The run rate is 5.200 though the points are low. In the second match of the day, India not only overtook South Africa but also increased the run rate.
Rohit Sharma’s team beat the Netherlands by 56 runs at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Batting first, India collected 179 runs. But then, The Dutch had to stop at 123 runs for 9 wickets to answer.
With this win, India is at the top of the table with 4 points. Their run rate is 1.425. South Africa is in second place with 3 points. Their points are 5.200. Bangladesh is in third place with 2 points.
Batting for 180 to win, Netherlands lost opener Vikramjit Singh early on. Max O’Dowd and Bas De Leed – both collected 16 runs. The Dutch kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Colin Ackermann scored 17 runs. Tom Cooper was out for 9 runs, Scott Edwards scored 5 runs, and Tim Pringle scored the maximum 20 runs. Shariz Ahmed scored 16 runs off 11 balls and Paul Van Meekeren remained unbeaten on 14 runs off 6 balls.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Ravichandran Ashwin took 2 wickets each for India. 1 taken by Mohammad Shami.
