ICC fined Asif and Farid after this incident. The ICC said in a statement that Asif had breached Article 2.6 of the Code of Conduct and Farid had breached Article 2.1.12.
As punishment, 25 percent of the match fee was deducted from the two cricketers. At the same time, 1 demerit point was added to the code of conduct of the two people. Both accepted the punishment.
