Hobart is set to host the Ashes final

The high-profile Ashes series is underway in Australia, with the first Test starting on December 8. When it comes to the locations of the five games that will be played soon, it was previously reported that only the final Test would be contested outside of Perth. The venue for the match has still to be determined, although according to recent reports, the Ashes final will be held in Hobart.

According to sources, the MCG and SCG were both in the running to host the Ashes final in 2021-22, but Melbourne lost out due to sluggish ticket sales for the Boxing Day game and the continuing Big Bash League. CA was all in the mood to avoid a poor turnout for the high-profile finale series, which is how Hobart was eliminated.

The curators of the Hobart pitch have already begun their work and will begin the final plan once they have been approved to host the last Test. Many high-ranking officials and power brokers gathered for the conference to decide the place while also considering the financial benefits.

However, it was believed that Pat Cummins and his team prioritised an excellent surface for the pink ball Test over having a more financially advantageous venue.

The first game was underway at The Gabba, where the hosts got off to a tremendous start by scoring 425 runs in the first innings, with Travis Head’s 150 runs stealing the show. In terms of their bowling attack, new skipper Pat Cummins brought all of his good fortune to the game by bowling a five-for on the first day. The second innings will be played by England, who were bowled out for 147 runs in the first innings. At the time of writing, the visitors are down by more than 100 runs after losing two wickets. It’ll be interesting to see if they can tip the game in their favour.
