Despite Quetta Gladiators’ lost, Sarfaraz finding positive sides

কোয়েটা গ্লাডিয়েটর্স হারলেও, ইতিবাচক দিক খুজে পাচ্ছেন সরফরাজ

In this edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators have already played four matches. The team, who started the tournament with a loss, have only won once so far. After winning the second match, Quetta had a bitter taste of defeat in the third and fourth matches. However, even after consecutive defeats, the captain of the team, Sarfraz Ahmed, is not losing confidence. Instead, he found a positive side.

Quetta faced Lahore Qalandars at the National Stadium in Karachi on Tuesday. Sarfraz also won the toss that day. But by sending the opponent to bat first on the batting helpful wicket, the Quetta captain made a mistake. At the end of the scheduled over, Lahore got a big collection of 198 runs. Quetta was able to score 135 runs chasing that target. The result was a loss of 63 runs.

Sarfraz thinks that his team lost because they could not do well with the bat as a team. As the bowlers could not control the opponent’s run wheel, the batsmen also could not take advantage. In this context, Sarfaraz said, “The wicket of the match was very good. The ball connected with the bat. But the bowlers did not do well. The batsmen also did not score runs according to the wicket.”

However, Sarfraz is looking at Jason Roy’s return to run as Quetta’s gain in this match. He even called him the team’s match winner. The Quetta captain added, “He (Roy) is one of the best players in our team. Any time he can win us a match. Having a batsman like him back in runs, is definitely important for our team.”

Notably, Roy missed his half-century for just 2 runs in the match against Lahore. Coming down to bat at number three on this day, this batsman played an innings of 48 runs off 30 balls. He hit 1 four and 5 sixes. This is his highest run-scoring innings so far this season. But as the batsmen at the other end were busy coming and going, Roy’s innings faded away. Let’s see if Quetta Gladiators come out of the losing circle and win the next match.
