ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 – Match 25 (South Africa vs Sri Lanka)

In the 25th match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, South Africa have won by 4 wickets with 1 ball in hand against Sri Lanka at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. After losing the toss and being sent to bat first, Sri Lanka lost their all wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 142 runs.

Pathum Nissanka played the highest innings of 72 runs off 58 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes for the Lankans. Besides, Charith Asalanka scored 21 and Dasun Shanaka11 runs. Tabraiz Shamsi and Dwaine Pretorius took the highest number of 3 wickets each for the Proteas, Anrich Nortje took 2 wickets.

Chasing a challenging target of 143 runs, South Africa started losing regular wickets from the very beginning due to the bowling cannon of the Sri Lankan bowlers. From there, captain Temba Bavuma (46) led the team to victory. 15 runs were needed to win the last over. In the end, David Miller’s 2 sixes and Kagiso Rabada’s 1 four, gave South Africa a dramatic 4 wickets victory with 1 ball in hand. Miller made 23 off 13 balls and Rabada made 13 off 7 balls. For Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga took the most number of 3 wickets and Dushmantha Chameera took 2 wickets.

After winning this match, South Africa has risen to 2nd place in the points table of Group 1 in Super 12. The defeated side of the match, Sri Lanka, is 4th in the points table with their 2nd consecutive defeat.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 – Match 26 (England vs Australia)

England has got a victory by a huge margin of 8 wickets with 50 balls to spare against Australia at the Dubai International Stadium in the second match of the day. After losing the toss and batting first, Australia was bowled out for 125 in the allotted 20 overs by the English bowlers.

Aussie captain Aaron Finch top-scored with 44 runs for the team. Ashton Agar scored 20 runs and Matthew Wade scored 18 runs. Chris Jordan took the highest number of 3 wickets for England. Chris Woakes and Tymal Mills took two wickets each, and Liam Livingstone and Adil Rashid took one wicket each.

Chasing an easy target of 126, Jos Buttler batted brilliantly and England lost just two wickets to reach the port of victory in 11.4 overs. Buttler played an innings of unbeaten 71 off 32 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes. Also, Jason Roy scored 22 runs, and Jonny Bairstow remained unbeaten on 16. Agar and Adam Zampa took 1 wicket each for Australia.

After winning this match, England has retained the top spot in the points table of Group 1 with their 3rd win in a row in Super 12. Defeated Australia, on the other hand, are third in the points table.
