PSL 2022 – Final (Lahore Qalandars vs Multan Sultans)
The Lahore Qalandars have secured the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 title for the first time. In the final match of the seventh edition, Qalandars have defeated the champions of the last season, Multan Sultans by 42 runs to win the title.
The Qalandars won the toss and elected to bat first, they scored 180 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday night. The beginning was slow but the end was great for the Qalandars.
Experienced batsman Mohammad Hafeez made an important contribution to the team’s big score by scoring 69 runs from 46 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. In the end, the Qalandars got a big collection courtesy of the stormy batting of Harry Brook and David Wiese. Brook was unbeaten on 41 off 22 balls and David Wiese was unbeaten on 28 off 8 balls playing a short cameo. Asif Afridi took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Sultans.
Sultans lost captain Mohammad Rizwan and Shan Masood in the power play to chase down the challenging target of 181 runs. Five batsmen returned to the dressing room within the team’s 63 runs, the Qalandars took control of the match through this. Khushdil Shah scored 32 off 23 balls and Tim David scored 27 off 17 balls. But that was not enough to bring triumph for the team. In the end, Sultans lost all their wickets for 138 runs in 19.3 overs. For the Qalandars, captain Shaheen Afridi took the maximum number of 3 wickets, and Mohammad Hafeez and Zaman Khan took 2 wickets each.
Mohammad Hafeez, the experienced batsman of Qalandars, became the Player of the Match of the final after playing a great innings. The Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan has been named the Player of the Series for the tournament. The runner-up team, Multan Sultans has won the Spirit of the Cricket Award.

IND vs SL (3rd T20I)
Hosts India got a triumph in the third and final T20I match of the series against Sri Lanka by 6 wickets with 19 balls to spare at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala yesterday. As a result, Sri Lanka lost the match and got whitewashed in the series.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the visitors lost 5 wickets in 20 overs and scored 146 runs. For the Lankans, skipper Dasun Shanaka played the highest run-scoring innings of 74 off 38 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes remaining unbeaten. Besides, Dinesh Chandimal scored 22 and Chamika Karunaratne remained unbeaten on 12 runs. Avesh Khan took the maximum number of 2 wickets for the hosts.
Chasing an easy target of 147 runs, India lost 4 wickets and reached the victory port in 16.5 overs. Shreyas Iyer played a devastating innings of unbeaten 73 off 45 balls with 9 fours and 1 six for the team. Besides, Ravindra Jadeja (22*) and Deepak Huda (21) were instrumental in the team’s victory. Lahiru Kumara took the highest number of 2 wickets for Sri Lanka.
Shreyas Iyer has been named Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his outstanding performance throughout the series, including this match. In addition, the two teams are going to face each other in a two-match Test series from March 4.
