The 4th day of the 1st Test between West Indies and Sri Lanka took place yesterday. Let’s have a look to know about the exciting moments of them.
WI vs SL (1st Test – Day 4)
At the end of the third day of the Antigua Test, Sri Lanka lost 4 wickets scoring 255 runs and were 153 runs ahead of the hosts. They started the fourth day’s game with Dhananjaya de Silva (46*) and Pathum Nissanka (21*) at the crease. After Dhananjaya de Silva returned scoring the 8th half-century of his Test career, wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella came on the wicket and paired up with Pathum Nissanka. Sri Lanka were able to take a big lead & thanks to their pair of 179 runs.
Before going to the tea break, Pathum Nissanka scored the first century of his Test career playing 240 balls with 6 fours. After returning from the break, the batsman lost his wicket scoring 103 runs off Rahkeem Cornwall. Then, Niroshan Dickwella (96) was bowled by Kemar Roach just four runs away from the century. After losing the last 3 wickets scoring 14 runs, the visitors’ innings ended at 476 runs. Kemar Roach and Rahkeem Cornwall took the highest number of 3 wickets each for the West Indies.
Batting for the target of 375 runs in the second innings, West Indies lost one wicket and scored 34 runs in 20 overs to end the fourth day’s play. Today, captain Kraigg Brathwaite (8*) and Nkrumah Bonner (15*) will start the fifth day’s play.
