WI vs PAK (2nd Test – Day 3)
The second day was washed away in the rain before Pakistan scored 212 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in their first innings batting on the first day. After playing on the third day, Babar Azam’s team declared their first innings and scored 302 runs for 9 wickets.
Fawad Alam left the field getting injured on the first day. However, he went down to bat again on the third day and picked up the 5th century of his career. Fawad remained unbeaten on 124 runs with the help of 17 boundaries. Besides, captain Babar contributed 75 runs for Pakistan. Mohammad Rizwan (31), Faheem Ashraf (26), and Shaheen Afridi (19) played some short innings.
Kemar Roach and Jayden Seales took 3 wickets each in the first innings for West Indies. Jason Holder took 2 wickets.
In reply, West Indies went down to bat and they fell in trouble from the beginning. At the end of the third day, they lost 3 wickets to score only 39 runs. Kraigg Brathwaite (4) and Kieran Powell (5) returned to the dressing room after falling victim to fast bowler Shaheen Afridi. Roston Chase got dismissed, scoring 10 off Faheem Ashraf. In the end, Nkrumah Bonner (18) and Alzarri Joseph (0) finished the third day remaining unbeaten.
