The 3rd day of the 2nd Test of the Ashes 2021/22 rolled on the field yesterday.
AUS vs ENG (2nd Test – Day 3)
Lossing two wickets at the end of the second day, the England cricket team collected 17 runs. They entered the field on the morning of the third day with Dawid Malan (1) and Joe Root (5) at the crease. The duo put together a pair of 136 runs for the third wicket. When Root returned to the dressing room with 62 runs, Ben Stokes came to the wicket.
After a while, Malan (80) returned to the pavilion after falling victim to Mitchell Starc. After that, in the great bowling of the Aussie bowlers, none other than Stokes (34) and Chris Woakes (24) could make a double-digit score. As a result, England got all-out for 236 in their first innings and was trailing by 237 runs.
Mitchell Starc took the highest number of 4 wickets for Australia. Nathan Lyon took 3 wickets, Cameron Green took 2 wickets and Michael Neser took 1 wicket each.
Australia lost 1 wicket and scored 45 runs at the end of the day to bat in their 2nd innings. Aussie opener David Warner (13), who is in form scored 41 runs, got run out before returning to the dressing room. Marcus Harris (21) and Neser left unbeaten on the 3rd day.
