ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 – Match 01 (Oman vs Papua New Guinea)
In the opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Oman won by a huge margin of 10 wickets with 38 balls to spare against Papua New Guinea at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in the Al Amerat (Oman). After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Papua New Guinea was able to score only 129 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs due to the great bowling of the bowlers of Oman.
For Papua New Guinea, captain Assad Vala played the best innings of 56 from 43 balls. Charles Amini scored 37 and Sese Bau scored 13 runs. Besides, no other batsman has been able to put up a double-digit score for Papua New Guinea. For Oman, the captain Zeeshan Maqsood took the maximum number of 4 wickets. Besides, Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah took two wickets each.
Chasing an easy target of 130, Oman reached the target in 13.4 overs without losing a wicket. In 7 fours and 4 sixes, opener Jatinder Singh played an unbeaten 73-run innings off 42 balls. Another opener Aqib Ilyas remained unbeaten on 50 off 43 balls.
Oman tops the points table in Group B after winning the match. Defeated side, Papua New Guinea is now at the bottom of the points table on the other hand.

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 – Match 02 (Bangladesh vs Scotland)
In the 2nd match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, Scotland got a great victory of 6 runs against Bangladesh at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in the Al Amerat (Oman). After losing the toss and being sent to bat first, Scotland lost 9 wickets in 20 overs and scored 140 runs.
For Scotland, Chris Greaves played the maximum innings of 45 off 28 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. George Munsey scored 29 off 23 balls and Mark Watt scored 22 off 17 balls. Mahedi Hasan took the highest number of 3 wickets for the Tigers. Besides, Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets each, and Taskin Ahmed and Mohammad Saifuddin took 1 wicket each.
Chasing an easy target of 141, Bangladesh lost two openers by 18 runs. Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim pulled the team from there. On the third wicket, these two made a pair of 47 runs. However, thanks to the great bowling of the Scottish bowlers, the Tigers could not keep the pace of the run moving. As a result, Bangladesh dropped out of the match when Shakib (20) and Mushfiqur (38) returned to the dressing room.
In the end, Mahmudullah (23), Afif Hossain (18) and Mahedi (13) tried but lost 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and Bangladesh’s innings stopped at 134 runs. Bradley Wheal took the maximum number of 3 wickets for Scotland. Chris Greaves took two wickets and Mark Watt and Josh Davey took one wicket each.
Scotland gets second place in Group B after winning the match. On the other hand, after losing, Bangladesh is now in the 3rd position in the points table.
