ENG vs IND (2nd Test – Day 4)

Due to Mark Wood and Moeen Ali’s decent bowling, India lost three wickets and scored 181 runs for the loss of a total of six wickets to end the fourth day’s play. Now, India’s leading by 154 runs with 4 wickets in hand.

India started the second innings on the fourth day after trailing by 27 runs and fell into disarray from the start. Team India lost the top three batsmen including Virat Kohli to score only 55 runs. Mark Wood sent off two openers. Kohli, who scored 20 runs, was dismissed by Sam Curran.

Then Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane made a pair of 100 runs. Wood struck again when the team’s total was 155 runs. Pujara got out for 45 runs. Moeen Ali sent Rahane to the dressing room after scoring 61 runs for the team’s 167 runs. Shortly after that, Moeen Ali bowled Rabindra Jadeja (3). After that Pant and Ishant finished the day with a partnership of 6 runs.

Rishabh Pant is unbeaten on 14 and Ishant Sharma is unbeaten on 4. Mark Wood took 3 wickets, Moeen Ali took 2 wickets, and Sam Curran picked up 1 wicket for England.

WI vs PAK (1st Test – Day 4)

The host West Indies won by one wicket in a breathtaking match against visiting Pakistan. The Windies won the match with the decent batting of No. 10 batsman Kemar Roach and No. 11 batsman Jayden Seales.

Pakistan started the fourth day’s game with Babar Azam (52*) and Faheem Ashraf (12*) after losing 5 wickets to score 160 runs on the third day. But the visitors fell under pressure soon after. They lost the last 5 wickets to score 43 runs in just 13.4 overs. Pakistan was all out for 203 runs due to the great bowling of Jayden Seales.

Babar Azam scored the highest 55 runs for the visitors. Jayden Seales is the youngest bowler in the history of Caribbean cricket to take 5 wicket-haul. Kemar Roach took 3, Jason Holder and Kyle Mayers took 1 wicket each. 

Chasing the target of 168 runs, Shaheen Afridi’s bowling cannon started to dismantle the West Indies. The top three batsmen lost their wickets within just 16 runs. In the middle order, however, Roston Chase and Jermaine Blackwood fought back.

Chase played an innings of 22 and Blackwood scored 55 runs. After the departure of these two, the Caribbeans fell into disaster again. The Windies needed 26 runs to win when the eighth wickets fell down. And when the ninth wicket fell, 16 runs were needed to win. Kemar Roach and Seales then fought for more than 4 overs against the Pakistani bowlers.

Roach left the field remaining unbeaten on 30 and Seales on 2 to ensure the team’s victory. Shaheen Afridi took 4 wickets and Hasan Ali took 3 wickets for Pakistan. With snapping up 8 wickets in two innings with the ball and scoring the winning runs with the bat, the player of the match was Jayden Seales of West Indies. The second and final Test between the two teams will start on August 20 at the same venue.
