BBL 2021/22 – Match 49 (Adelaide Strikers vs Perth Scorchers)
In the 49th match of BBL 2021/22, Adelaide Strikers have picked up a great victory of 6 wickets with 18 balls in hand against Perth Scorchers at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. After losing the toss and choosing to bat first, the Scorchers were able to score 127 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs due to the brilliant bowling of the Strikers’ bowlers.
Laurie Evans top-scored for the team, he made 39 off 31 balls for the Scorchers. Besides, Captain Ashton Turner (28 off 15 balls) and Kurtis Patterson (25 off 19 balls) played two short innings for the Scorchers. Fawad Ahmed took the maximum number of 3 wickets for the Strikers. Peter Siddle and Henry Thornton took two wickets, and Matthew Short took one wicket.
Chasing an easy target of 128 runs, the Strikers reached the victory port by losing 4 wickets in 17 overs. Ian Cockbain played the highest innings of 35 runs off 24 balls for the team remaining unbeaten. Matthew Short scored 34 off 28 balls and Henry Hunt scored 27 off 23 balls to contribute to the team’s victory. Aaron Hardie took 3 wickets and Peter Hatzoglou took 1 wicket for the Scorchers.
The Adelaide Strikers have risen to 4th place in the points table after winning this match. On the other hand, the Perth Scorchers are still at the top of the points table despite a debacle in the match.

SA vs IND (3rd Test – Day 4)
Hosts South Africa won the third and final Test of the series in Cape Town by a huge margin of 7 wickets against visiting India. Chasing the target of 212 runs set by the visitors, the hosts have clinched a triumph on the 4th day. Keegan Petersen (82), Rassie van der Dussen (41*) and Temba Bavuma (32*) were the top scorers for the hosts. After winning this match, South Africa won the series by 2-1.
The Proteas, who were 101 for two at the end of the third day, came to the field on the morning of the fourth day with Keegan Petersen (48) at the crease. The hosts started batting slowly in the morning due to the small target, they wanted to play the rest of the game without taking any unnecessary risk. On the third wicket, Rassie van der Dussen and Petersen put on a 67-run partnership.
Petersen scored 82 off 113 balls with 10 boundaries, later he got bowled by Shardul Thakur and returned to the dressing room. After that, Van der Dussen led the team to victory by building up an unbroken 42-run stand with Temba Bavuma. He played an unbeaten inning of 41 playing 95 balls with 3 boundaries. On the other hand, Temba Bavuma remained unbeaten on 32 runs. Keegan Petersen became the Player of the Match and was awarded as the Player of the Series as well because of his great performances throughout the series.
