The 2nd day of the 2nd Test between India and Sri Lanka, and the 2nd day of the 2nd Test between Pakistan and Australia rolled on the field yesterday. Continue reading the article to know the interesting happenings of the day’s games.

IND vs SL (2nd Test – Day 2)

The Sri Lankan bowlers did pretty well in the first innings to all-out India for 252 runs. But on the contrary, Sri Lanka was in extreme danger when they went down to bat. They lost 6 wickets for 85 runs. They finished the first day with that 86 runs.

Sri Lanka happened to be bowled out for 109 on the second day. In other words, India got a lead of 143 runs. India went down to bat in the second innings after that. Shreyas Iyer, who was dismissed for 92 in the first innings, made 67 off 87 balls in the second innings.

Rishabh Pant, another teammate of Iyer, was also brilliant with the bat. He was dismissed after getting his 50. Rohit Sharma scored 46 runs. Hanuma Vihari scored 35 runs. Mayank Agarwal and Ravindra Jadeja both were dismissed scoring 22 runs.

India declared the innings at 303 for 9 in the end. Praveen Jayawickrama took the maximum number of 4 wickets for Sri Lanka. Besides, Lasith Embuldeniya took 3 wickets, and Vishwa Fernando and Dhananjaya de Silva took 1 wicket each.

Batting for a target of 447 in the second innings, Lahiru Thirimanne was out without starting to score. Captain Dimuth Karunaratne is unbeaten on 10 and Kusal Mendis is unbeaten on 16 runs. Sri Lanka still needs 419 runs to win this game and India needs 9 wickets on the contrary.

PAK vs AUS

PAK vs AUS (2nd Test – Day 2)

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the visiting Australians played 180 overs for two days in a row. The Aussies were able to score a mammoth 505 runs after losing 8 wickets in 180 overs.

On the second day, Usman Khawaja came down to bat with 127 runs, and Nathan Lyon accompanied him with zero runs. Khawaja returned to the pavilion after being bowled by Sajid Khan for 160 off 369 balls after playing for 556 minutes. Lyon was out for 38 runs. Travis Head was out for 23 runs. However, the Pakistani bowlers have suffered due to the outstanding batting performance of Alex Carey.

He returned to the dressing room with 93 runs off 159 balls. Australia is still batting with 505 runs at the end of the second day. Mitchell Starc is on the wicket with 28 runs off 95 balls. Pat Cummins played 10 balls but could not make any run on the day.

Among the Pakistani bowlers, Faheem Ashraf and Sajid Khan took two wickets each. Hasan Ali, Nauman Ali and Babar Azam took 1 wicket each as well.
