BBL 2021/22 – Match 10 (Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars)
The Melbourne Stars have triumphed in the 10th match of the BBL 2021/22 by 6 wickets against the Sydney Thunder at the Sydney Showground Stadium in Sydney. After losing the toss, Thunder scored 151 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.
Alex Ross scored the most runs for the team and he remained unbeaten to score 77 runs off 49 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes for the Thunder. Alex Hales (28) and Daniel Sams (22) also played two valuable innings. Qais Ahmad and Brody Couch took the maximum number of 2 wickets each for the Stars, and Glenn Maxwell took 1 wicket.
Coming down to chase an easy target of 152 runs, the Stars lost just four wickets and reached the victory port in 17.1 overs. Andre Russell played a devastating 43-run unbeaten inning off 22 balls smashing 1 four and 5 sixes. Glenn Maxwell scored 40 off 25 balls and Marcus Stoinis collected 31 off 30 balls. In the end, Hilton Cartwright remained unbeaten after playing a stormy inning of 22 runs off 12 balls. Tanveer Sangha took the maximum number of 2 wickets for Thunder.
