ENG vs IND (2nd Test – Day 1)

England captain Joe Root invited India to bat after winning the toss in the second Test of the series at Lord’s. Two Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul batted well and made an opening partnership of 126 runs. Rohit Sharma got bowled scoring 83 off 145 balls by James Anderson. After that Cheteshwar Pujara went back to the dressing room with only 9 runs.

Captain Virat Kohli made a partnership of 117 runs with Rahul for the third wicket. In the end, Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion after losing the wicket in the ball of Ollie Robinson scoring 42 runs. However, before that KL Rahul picked up the sixth century of his career. In the end, Rahul (127*) and Ajinkya Rahane (1*) finished the first day remaining unbeaten.

WI vs PAK (1st Test – Day 1)

The host West Indies decided to field after winning the toss in their first match of the second edition of the World Test Championship. After losing the toss and being compelled to bat first, Pakistan was bowled out for 217 in the first innings.

Experienced Fawad Alam has scored the highest 56 runs for Pakistan. Besides, Faheem Ashraf scored 44 and Babar Azam scored 30 runs. Jason Holder and Jayden Seales took the most number of 3 wickets for the West Indies. Kemar Roach took 2 wickets and Kyle Mayers took 1 wicket.

Coming down to bat in the last afternoon, West Indies lost 2 wickets for just 2 runs in four overs. Mohammad Abbas sent off Kieran Powell and Nkrumah Bonner to the dressing room before opening the scoring book.

Today (Friday) captain Kraigg Brathwaite batted with 1 run on the second day of the match. On the other hand, Roston Chase will be unbeaten on zero runs playing 6 balls.
