WI vs ENG (1st Test – Day 3)
West Indies had added just 171 runs in 90.1 overs on the third day of the Antigua’s Test. In contrast, they lost 5 wickets to do so. At the end of the day, they have scored 373 runs for 9 wickets. The hosts have taken a 62-run lead in reply to England’s 311 in the first innings.
On Thursday, West Indies started the game with 202 runs that was scored on the second day losing 4 wickets. Ben Stokes broke the 79-run stand by sending off Jason Holder in the fourth over of the day. Holder played an innings of 45 off 119 balls before getting dismissed.
Nkrumah Bonner then started to bat in marathon Test style alongside the rest of the batters. Bonner played 256 balls to score the second Test century of his career. He was eventually dismissed for 123 off 355 balls. This is the highest-scoring innings of his Test career.
Besides, Joshua Da Silva was out for 32 off 88 balls and Kemar Roach was out for 15 off 89 balls. At the end of the day, Veerasammy Permaul is unbeaten on 26 and Jayden Seales is unbeaten on 0. Ben Stokes and Craig Overton took two wickets each for England on the day.
