IPL 2021 – Match 53 (Chennai Super Kings vs Punjab Kings)

In the 53rd match of IPL 2021, Punjab Kings won by 6 wickets with 42 balls to spare against Chennai Super Kings courtesy of KL Rahul’s devastating innings at the Dubai International Stadium. After losing the toss and being sent to bat first, CSK scored 134 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs.

Faf du Plessis scored the highest runs of 76 playing 55 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Ravindra Jadeja scored 15 runs, Ruturaj Gaikwad and MS Dhoni both played two innings of 12 runs. Besides, no other batsman has been able to collect the double-digit score for CSK. For PBKS, Chris Jordan and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets each.

PBKS opener KL Rahul got off to a great start coming down to chase an easy target of 135 runs. In 7 fours and 8 sixes, captain Rahul played a stormy inning of unbeaten 98 off 42 balls. Thanks to his innings, PBKS reached the desired target in just 13 overs losing 4 wickets. Shardul Thakur took the maximum number of 3 wickets for CSK.

Despite winning this match, PBKS has left the tournament with 6 wins in 14 matches. They are currently in 5th place in the points table. CSK, on the other hand, is still second in the points table with 9 wins from 14 matches.

IPL 2021 – Match 54 (Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals)

Kolkata Knight Riders have defeated Rajasthan Royals by 86 runs in the 54th match of IPL 2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. KKR batted first after losing the toss, they lost 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 171 runs.

For KKR, Shubman Gill played the best innings of 56 playing 44 balls. Besides, Venkatesh Iyer scored 38 runs and Rahul Tripathi scored 21 runs. Chetan Sakariya, Chris Morris, Rahul Tewatia, and Glenn Phillips took one wicket each for RR.

Chasing the challenging target of 172 runs, RR dropped out of the match due to the great bowling of KKR bowlers. They lost 7 wickets to make only 35 runs in 9 overs. From there, Rahul Tewatia tried to pull the team alone. He scored 44 runs from 36 balls for the team.

But with 3.5 overs left in the match, RR got bowled out for 85 by the KKR bowlers. For KKR, Shivam Mavi took 4 wickets and Lockie Ferguson took 3 wickets. Besides, Varun Chakaravarthy and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each.

Winning this match, KKR remains one step ahead in the playoff race with 7 wins in 14 matches. They are currently in 4th place in the points table. RR, on the other hand, exited the tournament remaining in 7th place in the points table with 5 wins in 14 matches.
