PAK vs AUS (1st Test – Day 4)

The visiting team, Australian started the fourth day’s play with 271 runs for the loss of 2 wickets against the hosts Pakistan in the Rawalpindi Test. But not a single ball could be played in the first session due to rain. Lunch break was taken without the game starting for the day. After some time in the second session, the rain did stop. After that, the rest of the day’s game was played on the field.

Marnus Labuschagne (69) and Steven Smith (24) came down to bat on the fourth day. However, just 10 runs away from the century, Labuschagne was out for 90 runs. Steven Smith scored a half-century. He returned to the pavilion with 78 runs.

Besides, Cameron Green was dismissed for 48 runs. Travis Head returned, scoring only 8 runs. Alex Carey returned to the dressing room with 19 runs. Spinner Nauman Ali was the most successful Pakistani bowler. He scalped 4 wickets for 102 runs in 37 overs. Sajid Khan, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Afridi took one wicket each.

By the end of the fourth day, Australia had scored 449 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. The visitors are still 27 runs behind the hosts. Mitchell Starc is unbeaten on 12 and Pat Cummins is unbeaten on 4 runs.
