ZIM vs BAN (Only Test – Day 1)
Mominul Haque’s 70, Liton Das’s 95, and Mahmudullah’s 54 helped the Tigers to reach 294 for the loss of 8 wickets in 83 overs at the end of the first day. Mahmudullah is unbeaten on 54 off 141 balls at the end of the day. Taskin Ahmed (13) is unbeaten with him.
The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first and lost a wicket in the first over. Opener Saif Hassan returned to the dressing room after being bowled by pacer Blessing Muzarabani without scoring. Najmul Hossain Shanto could not do anything well. In the fifth over, he became the second victim of Muzarabani. He got caught at the third slip for 2 runs. Another batsman Shadman Islam returned with 23 runs off 64 balls.

Then Mahmudullah and Liton Das took the helm of the team. On the seventh wicket, the two made a big pair of 138 runs. Liton could not score a hundred runs even though he picked up a half-century. At 13 boundaries, he returned to the pavilion with a 95 off 147 balls with a catch by Nyauchi off Donald Tiripano. After that, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (0) returned to the dressing room in the first ball being lbw by Tiripano. However, Taskin blocked Tiripano’s hat-trick.
Mahmudullah remained unbeaten on 54 in his 50th Test. The more Mahmudullah can survive along with the lower order, more collections will be added to the Tigers’ scoreboard. The game ended 7 overs earlier due to lack of light.
