NZ vs BAN (1st Test – Day 5)

Bangladesh has lifted a historic victory in the Test by defeating the current champion of the World Test Championship New Zealand on their soil. The Tigers won by 8 wickets on the last day of the first Test at Mount Maunganui.

The Black Caps started the fifth day’s play with 147 runs for 5 wickets. Fast bowlers Ebadot Hossain and Taskin Ahmed bowled out the Kiwis for 169 in the second innings with their stunning performance. Bangladesh secured a 130-run lead in the first innings and got a target of 40 runs as a result of that. Ebadot Hossain took the highest number of 6 wickets with 46 runs in 21 overs for the visitors. Besides, Taskin Ahmed took three wickets and Mehedi Hasan took one wicket each.

Chasing the easy target of 40 runs given by the hosts, Bangladesh reached the port of victory by losing 2 wickets in 16.2 overs. This is the Tigers’ first victory in a Test against New Zealand. Mominul Haque remained unbeaten on 13 and Mushfiqur Rahim on 5 runs. Najmul Hossain Shanto returned to the dressing room with 17 runs, and Shadman Islam scored 3 runs.

SA vs IND (2nd Test – Day 3)

Chasing India’s 240 runs in the Johannesburg Test, South Africa finished the third day with 118 for two. The Proteas need 122 more runs to win and India needs 8 wickets to clinch a victory.

India started the third day’s play with 85 runs for 2 wickets. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara put on 111 for the third wicket partnership. But when Rahane scored 58 and Pujara 53, the visitors collapsed like a house of cards. In the end, an unbeaten 40 of Hanuma Vihari and Shardul Thakur’s 28-run innings helped India to make 266 runs.

Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, and Marco Jansen took the maximum number of 3 wickets each for the Proteas. Duanne Olivier also took one wicket.

Captain Dean Elgar is showing the team some dreams of winning the match by chasing the target of 240 runs. He is unbeaten on 46 off 121 balls.
