Sri Lanka was whitewashed in the T20 series against hosts England. They were on the way to get the same result in the ODI series. After losing the first two matches of the 3-match series, the Lankans were in a bad position in the third match as well. But the rain saved the Lankans.

After losing the toss in the third and final ODI in Bristol on Sunday, Sri Lanka was bowled out for 166 in the furious bowling of Tom Curran. After that England could not bat due to heavy rain. As a result, the two teams shared 10 points in the last match of the World Cup Super League by getting 5 points each.

Earlier, Sri Lanka lost 6 wickets to collect 87 runs. Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga were able to score 166 runs. Shanaka remained unbeaten on 48, while Hasaranga scored 20. English bowler Tom Curran took 4 wickets for England. David Willey and Chris Woakes took two wickets each.

Sri Lanka lost the first ODI by 5 wickets. England secured the series by winning the second match by 8 wickets. After sharing points in the last match, England is at the top of the ODI Super League table with 65 points in 12 matches. Sri Lanka is 11th with 13 points after playing 9 matches.
