IND vs NZ (2nd Test – Day 1)

The first day of the second Test of the series at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai was impacted by an obstruction of nature. It was possible to play 70 overs throughout the day. India won the toss and elected to bat, they lost 4 wickets to collect 221 runs. Mayank Agarwal is unbeaten on 120 runs. Indian-born Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel has taken 4 wickets for the visitors.

The opening pair of the hosts made a great start. Mayank Agarwal and Shubman Gill put up 80 runs together for the team. But Shubman (44) went back to the dressing room after being caught on the slip in Ajaz’s delivery. That is where the downfall of India began.

Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed for zero after one over. Virat Kohli made his way to the pavilion before opening the scoring as well. SL vs WI (2nd Test – Day 5)

On the last day of the second and final match of the series, the Caribbeans got bowled out for 132 in the whirlwind magic of the Sri Lankan spinners after coming down to chase a target of 297 runs. At the same time, the hosting team Sri Lanka got a huge victory of 164 runs against the visitors.

The Sri Lankan cricket team, which lost eight wickets for 328 runs at the end of the fourth day, entered the field on the fifth day morning with Dhananjaya de Silva (153) and Lasith Embuldeniya (25) at the crease. From there they declared the innings by collecting 345 runs for 9 wickets. In this match, the best player for Lankans, Dhananjaya de Silva remained unbeaten on 155 runs. 

Nkrumah Bonner and Jermaine Blackwood gave a hint of resistance by making 49 runs for the second wicket partnership to reach the target of 297 runs. Bonner scored the highest 44 runs in the innings, 36 runs came from Blackwood’s bat. Besides, no one else could stand in front of the Lankan spinners. In the end, their innings were reduced to 132 runs in 56.1 overs.

Ramesh Mendis and Lasith Embuldeniya both took 5 wickets each for Sri Lanka. Dhananjaya has been named Player of the Match for taking five catches alongside playing a great inning of 155 runs. Ramesh Mendis has been selected as the Player of the Series for taking a total of 18 wickets, including 11 wickets in this match.
