Jasprit Bumrah is out of the field for a long time. The reason why the Indian pacer cannot play is not the lack of form. He had to drop out due to injury. After suffering an injury in the Test series against England in the middle of last year, he did not play again. After that, he missed big events like Asia Cup and World T20. He is looking forward to his return.
However, several days ago, Bumrah was included in the team for the ODI series against Sri Lanka. But at the last minute, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) informed that Bumrah will not be able to play due to not being fully recovered. Despite missing out on that series, the star pacer is likely to be available for the upcoming Test series against Australia. But that too is now going to collapse.
During the series against New Zealand, it was heard from the mouth of Rohit Sharma that Bumrah will not be available for the first two Tests. In this context, the Indian captain said, “We may not have Bumrah in the first two Tests against Australia. I cannot say for sure when he will be able to return to the field. But we hope that he will be available in the team for the last two Tests against Australia. Hopefully he will find his old rhythm when he returns to the team.”
Meanwhile, Bumrah is now healthy after recovering from the injury. His rehabilitation process is going on at the National Cricket Academy. However, BCCI does not want to take any risk with the most important pacer of the team. In this context, Rohit said, “Bumrah is now fully recovered. But if he takes the field before he is fully fit, there is a risk of re-injury. We want him to make a full recovery, even if it is late.”
The most important news for India is the ODI World Cup is arranged by India. And BCCI wants to get Bumrah fully fit for that World Cup. Because, last year too, India had to suffer a lot by playing without him in the global tournament. This time avoiding that risk, they want to enter the field with a full strength team. If all goes well, Bumrah will return to the field before then. His current condition also says so.
